Cambrils Park, near Salou - takes Camping Cheques, (see www.campingcheque.co.uk for details if you haven't heard of them) and under 12s are free, so you'll pay only £13.40 for a pitch for two, car and caravan or tent, awning, and electricity,  plus a supplement for the 15 year old.  It's a fabulous site with everything you need - good sized pitches, two really good pool complexes, on-site supermarket, restaurant and take away, bar and low-key evening entertainment by professionals.  It's a big site, but nicely divided into 'areas' and additionally is also near the beach, and walking distance into Cambrils and Salou (but also a good local bus service all the way between the two).

Otherwise, if you want a French site, have a look at what's available on the Camping Cheque website.  Loads more sites, and you can see a brief overview of what's available at each.  La Dragonniere at Vias is also a Camping Cheque site, near Montpellier, and four people can stay for the price of a Camping Cheque, so again very good value.

We went here... http://www.tamarit.com/index.php (sorry new to this, can't do a fancy link!)in Aug 07.

The campsite is lovely with a great pool and direct access to a gorgeous quiet beach. The camp has restaurant, bars and entertainment etc in high season but not sure at the time of year you plan on going. The location is fairly isolated, you can walk (15mins)along the beach to Altafulla where there are restaurants and a train station from which you can easily get to Barcalona or Salou, otherwise its a car journey to Tarragonna (great ampitheatre). We also went to Torredembarda a few times for the market and for an evening me-ander around the touristy trinket shops before stopping in the square for a drink and a bit of people watching.

If you are looking for an overnight stop next to a motorway route where you just need an overnight bag and a basic continental breakfast try  Formule1......I have used them on a couple of occasions to and from the South of France and found them very handy.
