we are not planning to go till 2010 but i like to be prepared, hahaha being as you are not far from us in cheshire, what route do you go, do you go dover/calais, and what time do you normally get your ferry, we were hoping to travel and have overnight stay starting main two weeks on site, on a saturday in august, so what time do you think it would be best to get ferry/eurotunnel

We used eurotunnel this year other times we have travelled we've used the ferry. friends that we went with are not to good on the crossing. We caught a late train then travelled through the night stopped in the Loire Valley for first overnight stop then we stayed for two nights in the Midi-Pyrenees. We then spent two weeks on Playa Montroig.
We usually catch the 12.00am late night Friday ferry, then take a week to get to Montroig, after a couple of days at Le Chateau usually spend 4 or 5 days at Camping Laguna in the Bay of Roses because in August it's a Saturday arrival day at Montroig on the premier plus pitches. Laguna is nice as long as you stay on the beachfront or lagoon pitches, otherwise it's a bit like Gaza City ....

I know this is planning ahead but a few of us (a couple of family groups) are thinking about Spain next summer we would like to start looking for somewhere so we can hopefully agree by the time we go next year!
I quite like the look of Le Torre Del Sol but the reviews both mention nightclubs - is it noisy late at night? That's the one thing I can't live with for two weeks is music until late in to the night. Even though I like a good nightclub, having it encroach in to your own space everynight is a bit tiring.
When we stayed at Le Torre Del Sol we never even heard the disco or music but in both campsites we had beachside pitches Le Torre Del Sol had quite high hedge row so you didn't have a view of the sea. There were steps to get down onto the beach. You do pay a bit more in Playa Montroig but I think the facilities are better and cleaner than Le Torre Del Sol. In both campsites we booked the beachside pitches.
Thanks for your response I'll look at Playa Montroig too! We want somewhere you can book beachside pitches some of the other places we've looked at you can not book the beachside ones!
Does Playa Montroig have better view/ access to the beach

Thanks, we'll have a look into it! The site looks great but boy were you right when you said expensive!! Think we'd have just a week here and another week somewhere else, perhaps in France!
Thank you for your help here's to August 2010!! We haven't been on this year's holiday yet!
