We've been a couple of times - it's actually quite near Fontainebleau, but not walking distance.  You're nearest to Moiret sur Loing, which is quite nice little French village, with several bars and restaurants (I remember the pizzeria being lovely - we left my camera there, though).  There's a small pool, sanitary facilities were a bit outdated, but clean enough and when we were there you got tokens to operate the showers (don't know if this still applies).  Big level pitches, without a lot of shade immediately on the pitch, though plenty of trees around.  We only stayed one night on the first occasion, and two the second, so you tend not to take notice of anything else.  There is some train noise, as it seems to be circled by a train track, but this lessens at night.

It takes Touring Cheques, so you can pay using these, costing only £11.90 per night (all season, according to the website and book).   This covers two people, pitch with electricity, car and caravan (or tent or motorhome), awning, and one dog.  Children will cost extra.

My sons have just come back from climbing at Fontainebleau - we were supposed to meet them in May but it was just too hot to stop!  They've been several times before.  They stayed at another site on the banks of a river, Camping La Musardiere, at Milly la Foret, I think.

Yes, we've been to this camp site.  It was a number of years ago, but we liked it, nice park land setting, plenty of space on the pitch.  Only down side was I got some nasty bites that  really swelled up, so take good repellant if you are a favourite of the insects.

We did a lovely walk in the forest of Fontainbleau, a few miles away from the site.  Not at all busy, and we saw a snake just sat on a rock sunning itself - don't know what kind, but it was great to see it there.
