Hi we are driving up from Millau to the Tunnel and need a recommendation for an overnighter in one of the cheap hotel chains.  Our Tunnel is booked for 12 midday so we want somewhere within a couple of hours from the Tunnel.

When driving we want to stay to the west of Paris, and are not towing.  Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi

West of Paris, and 2 hrs from the tunnel, you are probably somehwere around Rouen, There are chain hotels on the A28 link through Rouen, which you can Google.

If you want to stay closer to Paris, There is St Witz which is adjacent to the A1 north of Paris, and has a complex of budget hotels, and associated restaurants, minutes off the A1, with easy access on/off. Look up Campanile, Novotel,Mercure, Premier Classe, etc. There is also a big L' Eclerc if you have time for last min shopping.

If you're going through Rouen, close to the start of the D18E there's a Premiere Classe Hotel.   I haven't used that particular one but I've used others.   For around 35 Euros you get a tidy room with double bed (and bunk if you want it), TV & Wifi and an en-suite shower and toilet.   Breakfast is extra.   Excellent value.
