My husband says to make myself useful and find out what I can about fishing in the Tarn Gorge. Plenty of it? What type of fishing? Permits? We will be staying at Le Peupliers. I have done his bidding, the rest is up to you....................please!!

Hi, many thanks for reply. I don't speak any French but looking at the pictures there are trout in the Tarn River which means (to me I think) that fly fishing is OK. That will suit OH as he likes to fly fish. I couldnt work any more of it out but the trout bit was good. I take it a Carte de Peche means ticket to fish, in other words permit? Do you know if they are expensive or does it depend on where you fish?

The above link will take you to the Tarn fishing website,it's all in French but if you click on the links a lot is self explanatory.
A Carte de peche de Vacances is what you need it costs 30 euros and is valid for 15 consecutive days.
