The UK forecast is rubbish right now, and when its bad here, its generally not much better in Brittany. Hoping it improves for you, but hey, at least you won't be at home!
Hi, got back yesterday from 2 weeks in Brittany. Weather has not been good. Had half a day on the beach!!!
Cloudy and very windy, but I gather has been similar here.
However had a great time as area is lovely and so interesting. If you really want beach type heat head down to at least the Loire region.
Sorry.
Alex

oh well maybe i will pack my winter woolies then!! We are looking forward to seeing the area as its a lot more scenic than the vendee, which is where we normally end up!
Well back from Brittany after 3 weeks - we had beautiful sunny skies two thirds of the time, cloudy the rest with a couple of days of rain - so we were very lucky - and the area is so beautful - well worth visiting!!! A great time had by all - roll on next year!!!!
If you've booked somewhere it's best not to check the weather - what will be will be and you only make yourself unhappy thinking about the worst it can be. Best way of all is not to book, and just head where the weather is best, be that an area of France, or Spain, or even Italy!
We came back from Nevez on Sunday and had about 4 bad days in total out of 14, when the sun shines its lovely and hot and even when it rained it wasn't that bad, I wore shorts and t shirts all holiday and only put my coat on for a downpoor.
We had a great time, our 2nd year on the trot, on the cloudy days we had we managed to keep our teenagers occupied, we went to the Maze just outside Nevez and we had a good laugh and that took up a few hours. On the better days we hit the beach or pool and even went canoeing at Port Manach which is reasonably priced at 12 euros for a 1 seater and 16 euros for a 2 seater for an hour which is quite enough if your not very sporty !
We found the meat expensive in the supermarket 4 euros for just enought mince meat to make spag bolg for 4 (had to make extra pasta !!!) Try the Lidl on the way to Concaneau which is much cheaper and I managed to get my favourite Zinfendal rose wine for 1.99 a bottle !!! We did also bring loads of French wine back ha ha
Hope you have a great time

Hi we were in Carnac for two weeks and the weather was bad, I think we saw 4 days of sun in 14 days. It rained and was wet, grey and cold. We also found it very expensive, I have to say in 10 years of camping with the kids, I found this year very difficult. The weather was rubbish, it was expensive and if you only get two weeks holiday in the summer. I felt like selling all the camping equipment and going on package holidays, at least you see some sun and its a easy holiday.
we were at raguenes plage near nevez - fab area - and really loved every minute. Must have been there the same time - we got back on Monday - drove up to Calais which took 8 hours - but at £50 return it was still far cheaper than the brittany crossings!!

We experienced this when we stayed in Trinite sur Mer in 2007. Last year went to Cornwall and that was rubbish too. So this year went right down to Royan and hey presto, a great seventeen nights. No rain and only three cloudy mornings. Seems to me that you have to go a really good way south before the weather starts to settle into a half decent pattern.
I agree with you, you need to go far South to guarantee getting the Sun, we were in the Southern Ardeche this year, which is the furthest North! I have ever camped for my main two weeks, as the crow flys some 100 miles inland from the Med, so pretty much the same weather as you get on on the coast, although noticebly cooler in the late evening and early morning sunrise, as it turned out we had wall to wall sunshine and temps upto +40Deg C, so I am happy to go back there again, a lot less expensive than the Cote d Azur, not to mention some 400miles saving on Autoroute tolls.
