the one i expected to have no chance of booking as 1) is a municipal, 2) in town ..La Rochelle and 3 is during the French Bank Holiday in August.......I got a reply really quickly and they have booked us in!!!

I'm not entirely sure. However, when I was looking a t supermarkets in general (to plan our shop as we arrive late), I noticed that Champion i think it was were not open on Saturday 15 due to Bank Holiday. Maybe someone else on here will know answer.

The Assumption Bank Holiday falls on a Saturday this year and in France (unlike in the UK) they don't generally get the following Monday off in lieu.
