Been looking for sites for our hols next year and found a site called molecaten Flevostrand seems nice, quite close to a few things we want to do, anyone been there? Or know of any good sites in the area (harderwijk)- would like to be close to beach and within travelling distance of burgers zoo

Hi Purpletam, I have not been to this particular site but i have heard good reviews about all the Molecaten sites.

Is there anything particular you need on site or do you plan to be off exploring most days?

The site you mention is around an hour from the zoo, Is that about the most you want to drive to visit attractions.

Sorry if too many questions but there are 1700+ campsites in Holland so just trying to narrow down your preferences.

Hi rochford6  i thought molecaten looked good but have found reviews difficult to find.

Probably off exploring most days, we like to be close to a beach and a playground/play area on site is good too - keeps the kids occupied for a while.

I'd say an hours drive is the maximum distance for attractions.  We have been to Burgers Zoo before, and we have promised to take the boys there as we went before they were born and we both agree its the best zoo we've been to.

We were thinking of the netherlands as we know that the attractions are good, we used to live just across the boarder in germany, and that the dutch do camping very well.

We stopped for one night at another Molecaten site near Aarnhem and found it excellent. It had beautifully clean shower blocks and lots of things to do and was no more expensive than a more basic site. We are planning to return for a longer stay in the future.

We were at a Molecaten park last month and it was ok . Not a peacefull site but the shower blocks were immaculate and the only reason we went was because of the water park.

We stayed here earlier this year and it was lovely. Any noise is dealt with promptly, shower blocks were nice and it has its own beach with a cordened off area for kids swimming, kids in dinghys etc. There are lots of wind surfers there but they are no problem.

The beach area is gorgeous and it is not far from Nunspeet for shopping etc.

Would we go back?  Definately.

Hope this helps

Angie

Edited to add... it is also not far from Elburg and that is one very pretty town :)
