Tbh I tend to go with the reviews on zoover as there are more of them generally - and Playa Bara would be the latter of the three we would choose, though still nice. Hope we can still get in to one of them once hubby has his holiday confirmed in a couple of weeks!
Are you seriously 'off' hols with the MH now?

Have a look at this Logis du Breuil. It has all you want except slides in the pool and is a lovely site. We've been 3 times and just booked for next year now.
We travel Hull-Zeebrugge and then have an overnight stop around the Le Mans or Tours area, arriving on site early afternoon which allows time to set everything up without a rush.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We had a look around playa bara whilst at sanguli and it isn't a patch on sanguli or cambrils, there's not much round about either, not within walking distance. I would say cambrils or sanguli are your best bet, with sanguli inching just slightly in front as you have a much longer walk to the sea front from cambrils as it is set way back. We found sanguli really good, there's not that many brits on site as the only tour operators are thomson alfresco and siesta. Lots of dutch people return year after year to the same pitches thats why it gets booked up really early. A lot of them store their caravans at sanguli and reserve pitches for the following year whilst on site. The row that we stayed in was like one big family they all seemed to know each other but made us feel really welcome. The dutch family next door to us were there for 6 weeks! I have done a review but it hasn't appeared yet, there's football pitches, tennis courts, crazy golf, 3 pool complexes and an ampitheatre where there's entertainment on a night mostly in spanish but the kids still went up every night with the friends they had made. We were in section D of the campsite and the pitches were lovely, big enough to fit folding camper, awning, gazebo and car but not much else, the ground is very hard so you will need rock pegs.
The big plus for me was that on coming out of the campsite there were plenty places to eat and a promenade that stretches for miles in either direction towards salou one way and cambrils the other. We felt quite comfortable leaving the kids on the site to dive bomb in the pools etc and we would have a quiet day at the beach as they always new where we were.
The toilets and showers are spotless with cleaners in there all day long, there is 2 big supermarkets on site that you can get everything you need, a launderette and even a doctors surgery that is open from 9am to 9pm each day. We didn't eat in the campsite restaurant as we prefered to go outside but it always seemed full so must have been ok.
There's loads more I could tell you, if you want anymore info feel free to drop me an email. We wouldn't hesitate to go back there if it wasn't for the travelling, that's why we are still looking for the perfect package holiday (if such a thing exists!!!). If you do decide to go there I think the 1 essential thing you would need to take with you is a gazebo as it gets very hot, too hot to sit in the camper or awning after about 9am on a morning.
Jellybean thanks so much for that - I was a bit torn between Cambrils and Sanguli (though they are owned by the same people I think?). We will defo try for Sanguli then based on your advise. Can you suggest which might be the best area / block to stay in? Thanks so much x

Getting back to your post and your 5 top items. I agree with s+qknights post. Although we didn't have problems with mosquitos as we went in June. Great site, only thing for me was the location. We like somewhere to walk to from the site and found it just a little remote. would still go back though.
We stayed in section A, if you go on the sanguli website and proceed as though you were booking by selecting your preferred pitch type and put some dates in (even though not confirmed) a map comes up and lets you choose your pitch. There won't be many available as I have already checked. The dutch family we spoke to say there are sometimes a lot of cancellations after christmas as some people provisionally book. The areas at the back of the campsite are wooded and shaded, I preferred the large pitches in section A, W or C, (mostly unshaded though) I think section W is for caravans only. The only thing I would suggest is pick a pitch that is in a little from the main through roads that go through the campsite as you will get a lot of people walking past your pitch and gawping as you eat your meals etc.
Once you decide on a pitch number let me know and I will look at the map and try to remember if it was nice area. Sanguli and cambrils are owned by the same people, like I said not much difference between them just the distance to the beach.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
