Glad you're all sorted Caddyclan. We're *shock horror* maybe not going to France next year! *gasp*
We're off to Disneyland Paris in January, then we've got a week booked with Eurcamp at Easter. After that I'm pretty sure I'm going back to work at least part time (nursing) so the rest of the year is up in the air as we just don't know what's happening so we've decided not to book anything and just "wait and see". Unheard of for me not to have the crossing and site booked by this time, but there you go.
Well, booked P&O Dover-Calais for £70 July 2010 for a car and two passengers. Cheaper than 09 (not including the late discounts ). THEN remembered I'd joined the C&C purely to see what cheaper ferry travel I could enjoy... THAT's what drinking wine late at night does to the brain and bank balance. Still, it's booked so now I can plan our B&B stops and summer residence. Roll-on-roll-off 2010!

People make it sound like GCSEs aren't as important as A levels. They were to my daughter and her friends this year. It was an awful long time waiting for them - fortunately she got the results she needed and was able to book onto the A level courses she wanted that day. Someone at work couldn't understand why my daughter wanted to be here to get her results in person!

All booked for 2010, Hull to Zebrugge ferry 12th August, sail back in on the 29th, 14 nights on the same site as this year, which was lovely. Just hope the weather is as fab, high 30's every day!
How long does it take you to get there and which way do you go? We have been to Lake Garda before but this looks interesting but perhaps too far for us with young children - not sure?
Hiya we left the ferry port at 10a.m and drove through into France, Luxembourg, back into France and then into Germany, we arrived at the services we stayed overnight on at 6p.m. We should have set off at 7a.m. the following morning but broke down and eventually left at 9.30, drove through Switzerland and into Italy, arrived at the site 7.30ish. The bit we were dreading was the overnight on services but it was fine, lots doing it but in caravans rather than folding camper and trailer tent. The services had loos, sinks and showers ( all to pay for ) but cost nothing to stay. On the way home, the 1st day was awful as we left the site too late, got stuck in terrible traffic and then hit queues for Gotthard tunnel and an accident, meaning we got to services about 10.30, luckily there's a Mcdonalds on site which whilst it's not my favourite nosh served it's purpose. The 2nd day drive to Zebrugge was spot on, no problems, arrived there about 4.30. Next year my sister in law and her lot are comimg along, their kids are 4, 6 and 7, they're up for it as when we went to France last year the weather was disappointing and we decided if we had to do a long drive and overnight stop we'd rather do it to go to Italy instead of France ( been last 8 years). Plus living near to Hull means it's a 45 minute drive there and back, not the long haul to Dover/Portsmouth that we normally do. All adds up!! Hope this helps, my hubbie could give you the technical road business if you need it.

We like to do a mixture of booking and winging our holidays. For example, we know exactly when we want to go so have booked the ferry. We know a site that we definately want to try out in the Pyrenees and because it is a small site we have booked 8 days there. We have 3 weeks holiday in total - after those 8 days we will wing it! We may stay on at the site if we like it or the weather is great, similarly we will move on if we dont or the weather is bad. We won't make a definitive decision about where next until we are leaving the Pyrenees but we will have a list of the areas/sites we would like to visit and check a weather forecast before deciding. Best of both for us!

Have booked Eurotunnel for June/July for £2 return (thanks to Mr Tesco), but "only" for 4 and a half weeks, because mid-May we are flying to Greece for a week with friends. We met them in 1980 on holiday in Greece, been friends ever since, so next year is the 30th "anniversary", and we just have to celebrate that by going to Greece together!!
I'm also waiting to book end of August to mid-October, but prices aren't out yet for October, so have to keep an eye on that.
I would love to book hols to france for next summer but OH is in army and we are due a posting which we find out about in december so until then i will just keep looking at possible sites reviews etc....I just want to book so we have something to look forward to!
