Hi

We're planning on visiting Ile de re and would like to travel up to Etretat for our last few days of our holiday.  Its 347 miles so would like to do an overnight stop off enroute to break the journey - can anyone recommend a campsite within walking distance of a village.

Your overnight stop could be at Sees, just off the A28 nth of Alencon. This is a reasonably priced camping municipal within walking distance of the town centre & several resturants. There is a supermkt opposite.

We use Camping le Vieux Moulin, Neuville sur Sarthe, just north of Le Mans.

There is also the Municipal at Beaumont-sur-Sarthe, again north of Le Mans. Has a brilliant toiletblock, situated by the river, and easy walking to village.
Cost for 2 plus unit was less than €10 last time we were there.

Sees municipal is actually in the town, by the sports stadium. We have stayed there lots of times, there is a supermarket right opposite, if you run out of wine! We have also stayed at Alencon and Beaumont sur Sarthe municipals, and like them both too.
