Could someone please advise me, we would like to go to both Southern & Northern Ireland next year in our motorhome with our dog. Is there any restrictions presently on bringing pets over to Ireland?

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Hi there is no problem with bringing your dog from Northern Ireland to the South of Ireland or the other way.Now that we all Love each other and everything is over. All the customs and Army check points are all gone In fact there is nothing there any more to tell you what side of the border you are on. The only real give a way is the roads, the road's in the North are alos better than the second class roads we have down here.
Don't forget that Northern Ireland is the sterling zone and tends to work out cheaper than the Republic with the Euros. If you are going to arrive in Dublin have Euros with you as they have tolls to pay on the roads you are likely to use. The toll on the M50 has to be paid within 24 hours and causes some problems for tourists.
2 sites to google in N.I. which are excellent are Ballyness Caravan Park near Giants Causeway and Rushin House in Co Fermanagh. Both would need to be booked well in advance.
We have been over the last 3yrs, no problem. Only thing I would suggest is to leave your dog in the van when on the ferry. The 'kennels' on the ship are not very good, and the only other place for them is topside, can be a bit cold. Ours sleeps on her 'perch' in the van and won't drink till we get back to the van. Enjoy, its wonderfull over there.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
