Hi Everyone

We've booked our caravan holiday to France this August and will be catching the ferry into Caen and then driving onto Pontorson. Does anyone have any suggested routes or ones to avoid when towing a caravan in this area?

Just stick to the A84 autoroute (free) from the Caen bypass to Avranches and then local N175 roads to Portorson, its not a particularly long journey. If you are going to Haliotis its well signed as you approach Portorson.

Off the ferry at Oisterham it is straight forward, just need to have your wits about you off the port entrance and through the 1st little bit, there are some funny traffic lights, The locals are used to ferry crowds, but just take it steady if you are not used to it.

1 km you are on a dual carriageway, and it is easy. As you approach the Caen peripherique however there is a speed camera at 90 kph, and then as you approach the high bridge there is one at 70 kph. Not that you are into speeding, but it is so easy when you just arrive, to be thinking of all sorts, and not your clock.
