If you are going Sept. there will be no need to book anywhere. In fact many French campsites close for the season in early/mid Sept. If you have a motorhome there are plenty of 'aires du campingcar' you will see them signposted as you go into towns.

The £25 is a rip off end of. The same as ian admin fee is for the Cinema, Football Matches, Sporting events, any club hiding behind "we don't make a profit" All are a rip off.
I fell for it this Year, But not again.
