Having refused to pay over £5 for 2 simple coffees at a motorway services - I was wondering if anyone had experience of a 12v electric kettle. Research on the net suggests they are very slow to boil - are they worth it?

My mate has one & we only used it once. It took an absolute age to boil, you'd probably be better off just taking a flask even if you just had it full of hot water to make your coffee with.
