Left it a bit late but assumed we would be able to get into Blackhorse Farm CC site nr Dover no problems next Saturday 15th May for overnight stop to catch the 10-00 am Dover/Dunkirk ferry on Sunday. They are however fully booked. Can anyone suggest an alternative site, with showers & EHU, within easy reach of Dover either proper site or CC or C&C Cl or CS please. ------------- Mother Nature always wins in the end.

I've used a CL at Hougham (I thing it's pronounced Huffam), about 5 miles away on the old road into Dover.------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

Hi Suzac
We would recommend Little Switzerland, Folkestone. We have stayed at this site for the last 3 years enroute for Dover to Dunkerque ferry.
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=little+switzerland&by=sitename
The site has a lot of Continental and UK travellers arriving/departing Dover so the turnover is quite rapid and so they usually have spaces.
We have found the owners to be friendly and helpful. The cafe/bar has an outside viewing area and views-to-die-for over the Channel to France. The views get us in the holiday mood!!!
It's less than 30 mins from Dover Ferry Terminal and as the site has no gate or barrier it is possible to leave at any time of the day or night to catch a ferry.
Regards

Just tried to book Little Switzerland for an overnight after reading the recomendation.
It was for a Thursday night in August, the site replied that its a minimum 2 nights booking.
Dontknow if this is just because its high season or wether they dont want the overnighters any more.
Shame as it sounds good.

Funnily enough after trying a couple others recommended phoned Little Switzerland myself and managed to get in this Saturday so problem solved.
It must be because you are high season as no mention was made of 2 nights minimum.
Thanks to all for your help.
