Hello there!

We have just decided to get away during half term and hubbie can only get 5 days off, so we have been looking at and have booked a campeite via Eurocamp, it is the above in the Loire Valley.  Can't find many reviews and those that I have found are quite old!!!

Does anyone have any knowledge of the site?

We have 2 girls aged 7 and 4 so not looking for too much entertainment at this stage.

What are the toilet blocks like?

Many thanks,
Emma.

Don't know it myself but 2 reviews here

Excellent site, friendly staff with lots to keep children happy. Right in the heart of chateau country with easy access to Blois and Amboise. Entertainment nearly every night in high season. Very clean toilet and washing facilities. Pitches on sand/grass and flint so free draining.

Camping itself is ok, but service and customer service is bad. During our stay we had cold (and dark) showers and no electricity. When confronted with this the reception personal ignored the problem and even became extremely unfriendly when we asked for a reimbursement of part of our fee. Cold showers and lack of electricity can of course happen due to bad luck, but not taking responsability for it and even blaming it on the customer himself is really bad practice. Not what I expect from a **** camping. We had ** campings much nicer and way cheaper than this one.

As they are complete opposites I don't know if it helps much!

THanks!  Where did you find those reviews?  I couldn't find many, but at least it sounds as though the area is ok!

Thanks for your help!  We went for a cheap option at short notice - we were going to go to the North Norfolk coast, but all booked with the exception of Sandringham and they wanted £257 for 5 nights!!!!!!  We just booked the French trip with the tunnel for less!!!

Thanks again,

M

We went there 3 years ago (I think) for a two night stopover.

Good points: nice spacious pitches, plenty of facilities, well run kids club, decent kids play area. Loo blocks were adequate.

Bad points: pool area very noisy very late. Pool is slap bang in middle of park so noise affects lots of people. Next to pitch is a sports area where lage numbers of teens congregated til the small hours.

Pitches are very badly draining. We had a short sharp storm and it resulted in rivers of water flowing through the camp. Some of the pitches at the bottom were completely flooded out, we were in the middle and our pitch was absolutely sodden and boggy afterwards.

I'm sure it will be fine for a short break, I'd not want to spend two weeks there though. The area is very nice, make sure you go to the Zoo at St Aignan, : http://www.zoobeauval.com/ its fantastic and probably the best zoo we've ever been to!

Hi Emma

what did you think? We are thinking of going here with our boys (12 and 15)this summer - mainly because we want to do lots of cycling and it's on lots of bike trails.

Hi,

We were only ther for 5 nights, but we loved it.  The toilet block was one of the cleanest and tidiest we have seen in France (very important to me!!).  There is a new playground but this is for younger children, our girls are 7 and 4, so it was perfect for them.  I think maybe 15 and 12 would not be so keen.  There were 2 bouncy castles up every day.  The restaurant was fairly basic but fine if you don't fancy cooking and the staff very friendly.  We cycled into Blois and it is in a lovely area.....

Please let me know if you would like to ask any other questions!

Thanks,
Emma.
