How about C&C site at Hertford: Hertford C&C club site
Site accepts non-members too. Less noise than the Waltham Cross one perhaps?
Or a bit further north from the M25 but not far:Loves Lane, Ashwell, near Baldock
A bit cheaper but not luxurious.------------- Camping - emotional resilience in action, a triumph of hope over adversity and antidote to virtual reality.

As your first choice was Cambridge, how about Graffham Water (but they only take caravans) - 5 mins from the A1 but you wouldn't know it. Or St Neots C&C, they take tents too. Haven't stayed at St Neots but spent time at Graffham when they accepted tents and it was great - swimming pool as well.

Ferry Meadows at Peterborough takes tents, and is just off (well, 10 minutes) the A1. ------------- Amanda
