Thanks Tentz & Val A, as already mentioned on another thread, I've got my "Le Guide Officiel", a very comprehensive book it is too.
& as for the med, I'm more than happy to camp a few miles out from anywhere busy & drive in if needs be.
BTW, Tentz, you mentioned naturist sites earlier on in the thread, is it bad form to camp on one & leave your clothes on?

Nudity is usually only compulsory around the pool, certainly on the naturist sites we've been on. But - if it's a hot day then you won't see many people with clothes on. However, having got there, why not take your clothes off and try it - it's highly recommended, and saves on washing clothes! If you're not comfortable, then try one of the beaches, such as Serignan Plage, first.
But - in peak season I don't think you'll find naturist sites at anything like 10 euros per night, unfortunately! Out of season, using an ACSI card, or Camping Cheques, they may cost 11, 13 or 15 euros with an ACSI card, or £13.95 if you use Camping Cheques.
Hi, We are off July 11th for 3 weeks. Have only booked Chateau Guiton, Frontenac (naturist) east of Bordeaux for 3 nights, then hopefully turning up at Arnaouchot (naturist) on spec for a few nights. Then off the see Bilbao Guggenheim Museum and along caost to find site within reasonable access to naturist beach. Winging it. Hope we'll be ok.
If we have probs will probably head inland.
Anyone been to green Spain?
Alex

To answer your question..with 2 others..why do you ask & why would you want to?...If you want to give naturism a try you need a big one. Like Euronat Its about 4 square miles & 1000 camping pitches. No pants in pool or on beach but you can probabley keep 'em on on't campsite until you get in the swing of things. Not very cheap Jul/Aug tho, but plenty of blonde Dutch girls.

Was only thinking as a plan B if I can't find anywhere else. Still, you never know, I'm supposed to be on an adventure, some have even said "discovering myself", maybe everyone else should discover me as well! I am a bit too British about the whole thing really, I haven't even worn shorts since I was a kid! We'll see....
My blog site is already set up, I've just got to put something on it. Didn't want to tempt fate in case something happens & I don't make it out there, or even more embarrassing I turn tail & run home! (not likely, but anything's possible). I'm sure I will find it to be an adventure, whatever happens.

As previously stated, its the large well known sites that get full. Many smaller French campsites struggle to make living.
& I will happily support as many as I can, I'm all for supporting small businesses, & often find you get a much more personal service. No doubt you're all aware of my views on the larger sites, I won't bore you all further with it.
