traveling down to the Vendee from Caen next week,with family of 5. looking for a safe clean service station to get a few hours sleep around the Rennes area either just before or after.Thanks.

We have done this trip on many many ocassions. The drive is really quite pleasant and the roads (unless on a saturday) are usually really quiet.
Are you on the overnight without accommodation, if you arent and you have a cabin then the drive is so straight forward i really dont think you would need a kip.
As for service stations there arent many but there are several nice villages all just off the main route which are seconds away. Pull in, park in the village square, sleep
Thanks for the reply, yes we are traveling on Saturday get into caen about 9.30pm but not booked into sight until the Sunday so just looking for somewhere to rest in between.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
