Can anyone recommend a site for next year in Languedoc or Riveria for 2011?
We went to Vendee this year (Camping Pong), but the weather was a bit iffy at times. Next year I want hot, hot, hot. Our requirements are on a nice sandy beach, walking distance to a few restaurants/shops/ice creams etc, nice pool complex and somewhere/someone for my son to play football with.
The sites I have looked at in these regions all seem so huge and comments are that they are extremely busy in July/August (we are restricted to travelling in school hols) and the facilities are stretched.
We've also been to Garangoire which we all absolutely loved. If I could pick it up and move it further south (and on a beach) that would be the perfect site for us.
So, can anyone recommend the perfect site? Many thanks in advance.

I have been on and off for many years to a site called Les Dunes at Torreilles Plage ( close to Perpignan and Spanish border). When I first went it was in a very undeveloped area but close enough to Argeles etc to dip into that if we wanted. It's a medium size site (600ish pitches) next to the beach. I love it! It has bakery, restaurant, take away, launderette, fruit stall and ice cream shop on site. Opposite the site is a great pizza/restaurant, a couple of bars and small collection of shops. Has pool of course but nothing special also has tennis courts, football area etc etc
Each pitch has it's own bathroom with toilet, shower and basin with outside tap and electricity. Pitches are a good size generally although can be a bit sandy.
There is a watersports club on the beach too.
I have only ever been during peak times and have never felt overcrowded or overwhelmed there as I have at other sites.
It has been bought by the Sirene group and haven't been since then but am going for 4 weeks next year!!
In June/July of this year we stayed at Le Serignan Plage, in Serignan, Beziers area.
We really liked it and would recommend it. It is right on the beach, the beach is lovely and sandy and was never busy when we went on it, it is very long, so I feel that you would always be able to walk and find a private spot.
It is a large site, but we felt that it was not ' in your face ', if you wanted all the activities etc, it was there, but you could also get away from it all too. The camping pitches were not right near all the entertainment etc.
The pool complex was nice and they had a lovely spa complex for the adults and ' kids ' clubs if you wanted to use them. They had sports fields etc.
There was a shop, a couple of bars and restaurants on site as well as a takeaway and if I remember correctly, a place selling ice creams.
It has a website with all the info, we really liked it there and we do like peace and quiet but we really enjoyed this site and will return.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will take a closer look at Serignan Plage as I think it may suit.
What is the surrounding area like any nice towns/villages to wander in the evenings?
Also what is the traffic like in August - planning to go about 17th (ish) next year so hopefully the main rush will have died down a bit (or perhaps that's just wishful thinking).
This year we were at http://www.campdudomaine.com/ at Bormes Les Mimosas which is about 45mins from StTropez, much quieter area than further east with loads of typical french narrow street coastal towns to wander around, lovely scenery and the site is on the beach within easy walking distance to LaFaviere harbour town.
The site itself is huge but feels like your wandering around a forest (actually a vineyard) that has campers in, to give you an idea the furthest pitch from the beach (ours!...we booked late!!) took 15mins to walk to the beach, whilst others are on the beachfront. Facilities were good and plentiful, rarely queueing for the showers (once in 2 wks) and are kept very clean, the site even has its own bin lorry and the bins get done daily to keep flies and vermon down I guess (less flies than UK!!)
The big downsides....its expensive and there's no pool as its on the beach we weren't fussed about the expense but being 15mins walk from the beach a pool would have been nice!
Oh and 2wks of hot sunshine were very welcome, along with the ability to sit out and be warm until god knows what hour!!

One of the downsides to it is that it is quite isolated - nothing in walking distance of an evening but there is plenty within a short drive. However there is plenty on site!
im sitting on a site called le brasilia near perpignan and the pool area is new this year its like a mini aqua park great for kids aand they have football for kids and adults plus lots more
we arrived at brasilia on the 19th,and today we nipped over the border to Roses in spain no problem at all and came back the coast road through the pyranees we went to lamfora last year and went back to see the site and there was lots of pitches free and the pool was half full if that theres a train from brasillia and takes you into canet so you dont need your car all the time
