Stayed there twenty years ago, it'll obviously have changed since then. I recall it was surrounded by vineyards and they had just built the marina. We had a great time and hope you do to.

Been to Canet Roussilon 2 years running,to Ma Praire .Canet is a nice town, don't expect to see old buildings or fancy churches as it's a modern town.Lots of nice restaurants and cafe's,nice clean beach, harbour ,handy for trips into Spain for cheap duty free's.do go to COLLEQUELES a beautiful old town about 15 miles south on the coast,Perpingnon is worth a visit for the markets,Hope you enjoy.

Hi Brian - do you mean Collioure?  If so, I'd agree it's a lovely place, with an attractive old fort overlooking a lovely harbour, a good pebbly beach, and some attractive restaurants around the harbour.  Perpignan is good too for the market - quite North African - and there are some good 'Marche de Puces' or 'Vide Greniers' (Antique/Bric a Brac/car boot type sales).  You can also have a day trip into Spain, either around the rocky headlands along the winding road, but some beautiful views, or on the autoroute and into La Jonquera - which is a real frontier town!

not been but have been looking at La Brasilia which is also at Canet Plage, now off to look at Mar Estang.

Just had a look, looks very nice but looking at the site plan theres a road between the beach and the site with tunnels to the beach. Prefer the direct access of La Brasilia still.
