After a great trip to La Croix Du vieux Pont in July there we have decided to go back next year however this time we plan on going to Duinrell for 1 week from 4-11 september and then drive to Berny Riviere from 11-18th. we will be staying in a Keycamp 3 bed Villagrand and will be taking our 4 yr old daughter and our dog! Honstly really excited. Wanted to try Centreparcs however the price for 1 week midweek was dearer than 2weeks in France and Holland!!! I realise the weather may not not be all that good but with so much to see and do at both places doubt will have time to lie around in the sun anyway!!

Been to Duinrell 3 times now and for kids it is a great campsite. The free funfair is a decent size and has things for all ages and the swimming complex is great too. We mainly stayed in Eurosites tents (now gone) and found things like the toilet blocks of a very high standard.
There is not that much for adults at night but that did not bother us with the second two times we went being with other family members. There is a bar there with a bowling alley but not much life in there. The take away is good though and places to eat ok.
You can walk into town from the site and the beach is only down the road. The site hires out a range of bikes, including various options that would suit your little one (bike seats, bikes that clip on to adult bikes, trailers to sit in etc) so you can even cycle to the beach on the very safe cycle paths separate to the road.
Also been to Le Croix 3 times, the last time being June last year. Excellent site and a bit more for the adults as well as the children but then you know that already.

Thanks for the advice. we loved La Croix and thought it would be a good combination of the two. I must admit i am really looking forward to Duinrell as there seems to be loads of things going on to keep my daugher entertained. Also planning on going to De efteling whilst there so looking forward to it. Can I ask you how when you generally go to Duinrell what the weather has been like? Also how did you find La Croix in June. We went in July this yr however as going in September (11-18) it will be out of season so not sure what to expect. thanks

with Duinrell we have been there in May (half term) June (slightly later than half term)and the summer school hols but can't remember which month as it is a while ago now. Never had really bad weather, have had some rain but not every day and not too much. The weather has always been pretty similar to summer down south in England, sometimes really hot, sometimes not so much! The beach can be a little windy but this does not reach the campsite.
With La Croix the year we went about the 5th June as my sil came with her family. Unusually her children's school has two weeks off at the May/June half term so that meant we could go slightly later and not pay school hol prices!
The weather was a mix with one day of rain, a couple of warm days but with cloud and the rest were sunny.
The site was still quite busy and there were plenty of kids about for the niece and nephew to play with though of course not full of older teenagers.
That site seems to remain fairly busy for the full season
We have booked for La Croix for 2 weeks next summer (end of july/begining of august). Some friends of ours went for 4 days earlier this year and enjoyed it so much they booked for next summer and asked us if we wanted to go as well.
Looking forward to it (we didnt manage to go away this year as moved house) so a good break is definitely needed.
Have just exchanged clubcard points for eurotunnel voucher, so will be booking eurotunnel as soon as i receive it, and its only going to cost me £20!
If you have any tesco vouchers come in before you go, you can use them for tickets to Parc Astrix which is only about an hours drive from the campsite with free parking once there. Though smaller than Disney of course, it comes without the large queues and there is more than enough for a full day though avoid the really big roller coaster unless you have a death wish!!!!
You can also use the vouchers to go up Mountpasse 56 in Paris which has a great view from the roof and without the queues that the tower will have at that time of year.
