Mike I'm beginning to think we should drive all the way from Calais as have done the last two years and just take the ferry home in April , as matter of interest which route do you take down through France ?
neil
Calais to Camping Acacia at Tours
Camping Acacia to Camping Larrouleta near St Jean-de-Luz
Camping Larrouleta to Camping International at Aranjuez
Aranjuez to La Manga
Around 1250 mile over 4 days, this is down the western side of France which has less chance of snow.

Mike
Mike have just looked at Camping Les Acacia website and it appears to be closed until April 3rd .
Have you used this site before on past trips to Spain
This is the web site for Camping Acacia and it shows them open all year.
Mike
Mike thanks for that information , I think there must be another camp site with a similar name who's web page I was looking at .
Still unsure about this crossing at the moment and TBH would rather drive from Calais as we done for the last two years but were travelling with Motorhoming friends from Aberdeen and they would rather go by ferry as last year they found the drive from Northern Scotland to La Manga a bit long .
We did this crossing back last year without any problems, mind you it was like a millpond. Although in previous years I have felt ill even before I have left the port. I also normally take Stugeron, the only downside is they make me very sleepy.
hi voyage was ok but we do both suffer from seasicknes so took our pills and slept quite a bit. We had a cabin right near the front of the boat 8021 and we felt more movement than in the in the lounge at the back. we came down via salamanca and stayed at camping regio. We then intended to stay just outside seville but missed the turning for the campsiten it was only about 4pm so in the end carried on to cabopino arriving a day earlier at about 7.30 pm.we had driven about 450 miles a little bit far but we felt ok. not sure if we will go through madrid on the way back or not. It was a good journey all dual carriageway.I f anyone is coming to cabopino we are on G8 come and say hello!
Thanks for info Janet, we have decided to drive down through France and stop at Sitges en-route then on to Cabopino for early March. how are the pitches at Cabo, do you have water on the pitch. Are the CC ones well situated, we have 8.5mtr motorhome with smart on trailer. We will look you up in March.
Hi OT03 Pitches are very mixed some very small others huge. Again some have water others not and for some pitches you need a long lead. When we arrived we were allocated a pitch on row D but it was probably the smallest on the row and we have a 7 metre caravan kia sorrento and awning so staying there for two months was not really an option. Bear in mind we arrived in the dark and it was pouring with rain so we pitched for one night and moved in the morning, but this was new year so the campsite was very busy we walked round for an hour and a half before we found something suitable. Some larger pitches have a large lip from the road where soil has washed away that we would have trouble with but you with the motorhome would be fine also campsite has slightly more empty pitches so you will have more choice in March. However be aware that there is not set area for CC a pitch may be saved for you but it might not be suitable and the best pitches like on lots of sites are booked year in year out. In march some of the long stayers may be leaving and you might be lucky and grab a good pitch. That said we have enjoyed our stay lots of onsite activties toilets kept very clean nice beach in walking distance plenty of sunshine what more can you ask! Sorry we will not see you in march we will be going home end of feb let us know how you get on best wishes jan
