The new 2011 version of Archiescamping POI downloads for your SatNav is now available on this link. There are even more campsites than ever, the Camping Cheque and ACSI 2011 sites are included, and more sites now have telephone numbers so you should be able to contact the site on your travels to check on availability or your reservation.

The ACSI 2011 sites are not included yet. Will be added the next update. Also with that update the number of British campsites will be nearly doubled (included a great number of CL and CS sites).
In the meantime a list of the ACSI 2011 sites, with coördinates, can be found on my website.
Will sub to this thread and await the update. Haven't done this before but I've got a couple of Micro SD cards and an adapter so I guess you just visit Archie and download the info to the card then stick in the adapter/device and Bob's your uncle?
I seem to remember having a look previously and there was a choice of downloads but if I'm having difficulty I'm sure I won't have to look far for assistance?
I don't want the satnav "pinging" for proximity every time I get near a campsite unless I'm looking for one and I don't want to shut off the proximity alarm as the speedcam reminders can be useful so I suppose I keep the SD card out till we're ready for a bed for the night?

Hi I am a complete dumbo as far as these new fangled contraptions go, 73 ans..
I have a tomtom one europe 2nd edition. How do I upload new maps etc. from Archies. I still use a sextant.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Once you know how its quite easy! I assume you can link your TomTom to your PC/Laptop either via a USB connection or card reader? If so what I would do is to download Archies files for your Sat Nav and save them to the desktop. Click on the new desktop icon and it will open a dialogue box containing, usually, 3 files. One is the instructions and the other to are what you need to add to your TomTom. One file is a data base and the other a small image file. These need to be copied into the main map folder on your TomTom. This can be done via Windows Explorer/My Computer or TomTom Home if you have downloaded that. From the desktop right click on the file and copy, go to the file showing the contents of your TomTom, find the map file and right click and paste. Job done. Some people don't think its worked because they can't see a long list of campsite POI's but they don't work like that. The best way is to decide on a town near you destination and select this on the TomTom and after that go to the button that say POI's near destination and that is where you will see the list of nearest campsites. I appreciate that it sounds a bit complicated but it is a step by step process but please ask again if you need more help.
