We have booked to take our caravan to Austria next summer. We are taking the Newcastle to Amsterdam and have booked for a week at the Nattersee site near Innsbruck. We have our return planned via the Black Forest and Luxembourg.

We would like to travel down through Germany and have 4 nights to stay enroute. An earlier post recommended Mainz as a good stop off and this area does seem to have plenty to do and be about the right distance.

Has anyone got any recommendations of campsites in this area, preferrably with a pool or other areas about halfway between Amsterdam and Innsbruck.
