No matter which site you use you will not be far away from a cycle track, we have used Ocean in the past which takes Camping Cheques.

You don't say when you are going but even in September the cycle tracks can be busy and I believe that during July/August they and the Ille gets extremely busy.

Also the bridge toll is quite expensive at around £25 or so but gets cheaper in early Sept.

We stayed here a few years ago http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6236 Nice site near the beach. The Ile de Re is quite expensive to access if your were thinking of regularly travelling over to the mainland.

Have used Camping Interlude at Bois Plage en Re a couple of times and would recommend it. Beach access, good restuarant / bar / take away and shop on site, 5 mins on the bike to the local cave co-operative for wine, 10 mins to the market and small supermarche for food.
