Does anyone use Microsoft Autoroute 2010? I've recently got it as I was sure on an old version I had there was a list of campsites throughout Europe but doesn't seem to be included in the latest.

If anyone knows where to get the pushpin file to import a list of European Campsites then please let me know.

Thanks

You can use Archie's camping http://www.archiescampings.eu/eng1/ to download 26,000 odd campsite POI's for your SatNav.

excellent tip for that site, thanks Val. Seems that the Autoroute stuff has been missed out of the zip files but i'll drop the guy a note to see if he can re-up them.

Thanks again

I'm sure he'll help - I'm surprised that they aren't there, as lots of others use the website and haven't commented.

Hi Pete,

My apologizes for this misunderstanding. I know many users of my poi's want to use the poi's on their laptops with f.e. in your case, the programm AutoRoute.

To start with the "bad news", there is not a special poi-format for AutoRoute and this is the reason you didn't find such a file.

The good news however is, because AutoRoute is a kind of computer programm, that it is possible to import several kinds of formats which you can find in the other maps. Depending your version of the programm it will be possible to convert in AutoRoute f.e. the NAVIO-asc, the Google Earth-kml or the general gpx format.

Unfortunately I am not an AutoRoute expert myself and I didn't receive any manual in English so far, but I am pretty sure you can find one within a few minutes "Google-around".

Good luck!

Hi Archie,

My apologies firstly, the MS Autoroute directory in the zip is empty but I have just noticed a GPX eXchange folder which is the file format standard Autoroute 2010 uses now.

I now have a european map full of campsites

And a forum full of them, too, by the looks of your post!  Perhaps not a good idea to put them on here - but it just shows how many there are!

When Autoroute first appeared it came on 3 floppy discs. It had both Raster and Vector maps on it. One gave you roads like you see on the 2006 and 2010 versions and the other gave an OS type map which was brilliant.

Now Autoroute comes on 2 CDs and those have massive storage  (? 2006 did) and there are no nice OS type maps. I suppose that's called progress.

Camping Car Infos , which I think only covers Aires, is able to transpose onto Aotoroute 2006 but I have not tried it on the 2010 version
