No, we haven't done the Vendee, sorry, but there are plenty of people on here who have. We're not beach people, and the Vendee area is mostly about the beaches. You can use ACSI or Camping Cheques even if some of your dates are outside the acceptance period - you simply pay the normal site rate for those days.
Do you mean Eurotunnel - taking your own car? If so, then I think someone has mentioned using Tesco Vouchers, converted to deals, which can be used towards the costs. It will probably cost you something around £120 - (much more with a caravan) where the short crossings with a ferry company can be as little as £46. The tunnel is quick and you obviously can't beat that - the ferries take at least twice as long.
