Hi, have finally decided to venture abroad and picked Holland as it's quite accessible. We live in Kent, so plan to use Eurotunnel.
We're looking for a bit of advice about the drive to South Holland- having never driven abroad!
Also, have picked South Holland because seems to be quite a bit to do and see. Can anyone suggest a good area/ resort that we could explore on foot/bikes quite easily.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Nearest bit of south Holland is Zeeland province not far from Brugge in Belgium. You can drive it from Calais in 2hrs. Area around Cadzand-Bad on the coast has plenty of campsites. Nice enough area but quiet, ok for cycling. Cycle tracks everywhere, same as rest of Holland.
If you want more to do & see you will have to drive about 4.5hrs up nearer to Amsterdam. Traffic can get very busy in central Holland tho.
The province of Noord-Brabant is very nice too. You can travel via Brugge, Gent, Antwerpen, then head for Eindhoven. There are a lot of campsites around there, and cycling is a way of life in Holland, with signposted routes everywhere, so you can't go wrong in that respect anywhere in Holland!
