We are going to Europe for 7 months and are trying to work out the best way to get the car insured. We are with Direct Line and they only cover 90 days.
We are 31 and 26 so SAGA not an option unless we can get a parent to insure the carand then and put us on as named drivers. That should theoretically be possible and I will investigate as they offer a 365 days european cover.
Any other places people have used that are reasonable and offer the time period we aer looking for?
Thanks in Advance!

ADAC, the German rescue company will give unlimited cover I think, Britannia rescue will provide 180 days cover on their deluxe policy if you are a member of CSMA
I think it is a requirement that you also take out presonal insurance. We take out the combined personal and vehicle cover through Red Pennant.
Regarding the car insurance itself, I am insured with Liverpool Victoria; through my bank, Nationwide. My policy schedule allows me to keep my car abroad in the EU for up to 180 consecutive days. My comprehensive insurance is also still effective.
My car insurance is with Liverpool Victoria, through my bank, Nationwide. I am allowed to keep it abroad in the EU for up to 180 consecutive days, and the full comprehensive cover remain in place. It is wise to check this.
Although I have a vehicle manufacturer's service and maintenance policy, which includes breakdown cover in the EU, I also take out vehicle and personal cover with Red Pennant.

Oh dear, yesterday I had a bit of trouble posting; the progress bar was 'sticking' at about halfway, so I gave up. Just noticed that my post did go through - 3 times!!!
Sorry, folks.

You could arrange to do some reverse booze cruises just to re-validate your insurance, I guess it depends how far from the chunnel you are going to be.
