We are planning to cross from Portsmouth to Caen and back, but our preferred crossing times involve very late arrival in Caen on the way out and also on the way back.
Can anybody please advise us if there is any parking at Caen port which we can use for an overnight stop and an early getaway?

Last year when we left from Caen, (we drove up in the morning) there were vans parked in the car park just outside the lanes where you q for the ferry and in the lanes themselves.
We stayed at a lovely site about 45 mins from Caen called Le Puits http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6572 They are very happy to accept late arrivals, We basically arrived put legs down and went to sleep had a leisurely brekki next morning and moved on to Poutou Charente next morning.
Did the same on the journey home.
We have stayed at the port before but can get very busy very quickly and if you not one of the 1st off, theres no space.
Good luck

Hi Lou, just a reminder, When posting details of a camp site, please ensure you link to their UKCampsite.co.uk listing, not direct to their website, to enable reviews
etc to be read or left
Anyone who has visited, please remember to leave a review
We stayed at this site last year, 10 mins from the ferry near Pegasus Bridge. From the bridge, follow D514 until you get to the D37 at a roundabout.
A few hundred yards along D37 turn left up a little lane at a small crossroads, after 100 yds or so the site entrance is on the left (on google maps) No website but there are a few pictures on the Eurocampings page.

Second LePuits stayed there as a stop last year as well.
Kenny.
Looking at the ferry docking at 21.30 then that would make arrival at this site around 22.15.
Would the site accept an arrival at that time of night.

By the time we got of the ferry and to the site it was 10.45pm. Yes they were happy to do that, they gave you the pitch no via email and late booking details. You just go pay in the morning or before. you can even order your croissants and french stick.
