We are visiting friends in the first two weeks of August who live in Como and are struggling to find a decent site within a 10-15 mile radius [most of them seem to be further north on the lake and surroundings or not have good reviews]. It must be dog friendly and have good walks on the doorstep, preferably in the countryside. Thanks for any suggestions.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I sympathise with you, but really think it's one of the lakeside sites or nothing. Italy is just so different from France, and the sort of touring sites you find every where in France are so few and far between in Italy. They do exist, but away from the obvious tourist hotspots are really hard to find. Italians who tour have motorhomes and stay in car parks. Italians who have caravans put them on one site and equip them with decking and wooden sheds. And Italians don't have tents. All overstatements, I know, but all basically true !
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
