We (myself & wife both retired) are staying there for 3 weeks in June.
It's our first time there, so can't really comment on the noise around the pool area.
The young owners,Australian I think, have been very helpful when we booked as I was asking all sorts of questions ie,i'm taking my sat/tv (we use headphones for sound) and asked about positions for dish etc. They suggested a great plot for peace and quitet and great views from the campsite,as it's terraced and overlooks the countryside.
I think if you email them with your questions, you will get honest answers and recommendation.
When are you going ?
Andy.

If you're going in September, then I would think that even the liveliest French campsite will be quiet at night. September is when the 'mature couples' take their holidays, and though plenty of pitches may be occupied sites tend to be VERY peaceful at night!
You may find that a 'downside' to holidaying at that time of year - there will be few other children around.
We stayed here in the last two weeks of August 2010. The site is small and safe and the pool is fenced off so unlike large sites you will not feel like you have to watch every move that your kids make unless they're really tiny. (The exits are not gated so if they are likely to wander you may consider this.) In the play area there is a camp fire and once or twice perhaps a week there will be a camp fire and people will gather to chat. There might also be a boules tournament one evening a week by the cosy cafe. However, this definitely isn't rowdy and the campsite was quiet by 10pm. If you have young ones whom you like tucked up by 7.30pm and are easily disturbed you might want to go further away from the play area. But I must stress that this is not a noisy or rowdy campsite and it's small so you are never far from any of the facilities.
I hope this helps.
I've had a similar message from someone called Rebecca via my email from ukcampsite but I have no idea how to respond directly to it - there's no email address given for her so hopefully Rebecca will read this!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Rosie we're booked for DDM in August with 2 boys. I asked for a pitch around the playground - 1 to 6 are their numbers I think, and Natalie said that of course it will be a little bit louder than obviously the tranquil area but its not like there are mad kids running about and playing all night long.
Most kids will have had enough by the evening time after all the heat and excercise so I'm not anticipating a huge amount of noise at all.
And going in September - definately shouldnt be a problem as most kids are gone by then
