Does anybody know if using two towing mirrors is required by law in France.

DOn't really know but why would you want to tow within only one?

MAny years ago I was told that you needed one on the (our) offside.

I just can't imagine towing with one towing mirror. If you overtake on the motorway you certainly need a clear view of both sides of the road, common sense in my book.

not sure if its law  but sure its common sense to use 2.

Please do not only use one mirror. The difference in speed of a caravan travelling at e.g. 50 mph and a car doing 80 mph is too vast. By the time you have seen the danger it will be too late - and that does also count for slip roads joining from the French near side.

If you have to buy a new mirror make sure it is 'E' stamped (which it should be if for sale in Europe - unless secondhand)

If you're asking the question it suggests you hvaen't towed in France before, which is all the more reason to use two mirrors.

Don't risk it with one mirror.  Towing with two mirrors for the first time is hard enough.  Don't make it even more difficult for yourself.
