I have a problem that has been aired previously! Overnight stay in or very near to port in Caen. Haute Coture is now charging for 2 nights stay only. This is quite pricey after a long holiday in France. Anybody know of a "cheapy" site thats convenient?

Not just near the ferry, but certainly a site worth a visit, and not far to the port is Le Puits

 You could always stay overnight on the quayside, we did this along with many others at St Malo
