hi thinking of doing an overnight in or near madrid mid august on way to barcelona from portugal. there will be four of us in a couple of two man tents. anyone camped on a decent site that they would recommend? doesn't have to be in madrid but we might venture in during the evening so near would be great. otherwise just somewhere on the route. any suggestions or advice gratefully received...thanks

Hmmm ... nearest decent site would be El Escorial ... it's a large site ... but handy for the 'palace' and Madrid ain't too far.
We've also used Segovia ... north of Madrid and a lovely town ... lots to see ... camped at El Aqueducto.
