This may be of use if you have a pre existing medical condition or suffer from that chronic disease... age

We have just purchased travel insurance for a cruise we are going on later in the year and for 12 days insureance we were charged about £21 extra to cover our medical conditions. This was with John Lewis and others were more expensive. However when we went on our recent 8 week trip to Germany the Caravan Club covered us but did not charge any extra. I think if you have more serious conditions its more difficult and hopefully the list supplied by Stuart will prove useful to those in that group.

I have been usung the list for the last 3 years and personally I find direct travel very good. Thats not to say the others are not.

The list is helpful. But I am guessing the only way to know whether cover/ service is "good" will be based on the reaction of insurers to claims.

Can anyone share experience regarding levels of service based on a (unfortunate) need to claim?
