Hi
We are planning on visiting France for the first time in our motorhome next year.
We want to visit Disneyland with the kids, but appart from that have no idea where else to visit.
We would like to do a "round" trip and see a mixture of things for the whole family.
Can anybody suggest some "routes" they have taken and what they have seen, or suitable planning maps or books?
We are planning a 2 or 3 week holiday and don't normally stay on commercial sites (but probably will have to for Eurodisney), and have not yet planned where to sail from.
Thank you

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Get a large sheet map of France & lay it out on't floor to give yourself an idea of the layout of the country. You ain't going to do the the whole of France in 3wks unless you spend most of your time driving so maybe do west coast from Brittany down to Spanish border & back thru Dordogne & up the centre or do the eastern side, Alps etc. If you are going Jul/Aug peak time you will find Med coast is excessively busy & probably best avoided at that time of yr.
The thing to remember is that France is absolutely huge and assuming the children are fairly young they won't want to spend all the time driving.
You need to decide if you want beaches, forest or mountains and take it from there.
Tentz's route will give you a very good cross section of what sort of scenery is available but bear in mind that the run to, say, Biarritz is nearly 700 miles. That's nearly a week of driving there and back
If you can go out of season then have a look at the Camping Cheques or ACSI web-sites.
Thanks, thinking of doing parts of Normandy (or Brittany) and visiting Eurodisney with the kids. There is so much information out there on the different areas, it gets a bit mind boggling!

Not been myself but Brittany gets good press, especially for families. So what about South of Brittany/Dordogne, Loire, Burgundy with Euro Disney thrown in. Lots of smashing sites for families get mentioned here in all these areas and if you take bikes the family should be able to get some cycling in. We usually go South but this is a circuit I fancy trying myself at some point.
This route sounds good. It's like a millitary campaign with all of this planning.
I hope that one day somebody will produce touring maps for motorhomers with suggested routes to take!
