I would recommend the Bavarian Alps, went last year + spent 2 weeks at Alpen Caravanpark Tennsee, close to Garmisch in Southern Germany.
A really great site in a really good location. Its not the cheapest of sites but has excellent facilities. Its 15km or so from the Austrian border, well worth a look + has good reviews on this site.

In the Tyrol 2  excellent ACSI Camping Card Sites are Seehof at Kramsach, Walch's Camping and Landhaus (will have to put a review on for this site) or further south in Karnten. Camping Jodl on the Ossiachersee all beautiful area's many trips can be made into the mountains.  Food and Fuel are cheaper in Austria than all other countries in Europe except for Spain and Luxemburg in the West and some of the Eastern European countries.

And the other good thing with Austria/Germany option is we will miss out on all the French tolls which will help save a few pounds and if we go via Luxembourg save even more with there cheap fuel

You will need to buy a Vignette for the car in Austria but it is very reasonable. For 2012 it is 8 Euro's for 10 days and 23 40 Euro's for 2 months.  There are some small charges to go through the long Tunnels too, but on the whole much cheaper than France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

Visited Interlarken in Switzerland, stayed at Lazy Rancho campsite. Spectacular views of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. A trip to the snow covered Eiger is a must via fenicular train, takes you to the top of the Eiger, ice palace, viewing paltform, sledging, sking, huskis and walk to the mountainers hut, 27 deg in the valley and -3 deg on the Eiger, we even had snow in August. Easy walk into Interlarken (15 minutes) through pitureesque estate. Visits to Murren, Luterberunen and Grindelwald. ride up the mountin side at Grindlewald in ski gondala and back down on trottie bikes. Local bus service free with pass provided by campsite. Can be expensive with food, so take as much as possible with you. Vignette payable for car and caravan, approx 40€ each. Thurn lake nearby with swimming etc.

Annecey in France worth a visit, lake side campsites views of surrounding mountains. Annecey very nice with bars and restraurants along the waterways, discribed as the Venice of France. Geneva nearby and Itally vai the Monte-Blanc Tunnel but involves a toll, cheaper to get a return pass. Spectacular glacier at the side of the tunnel entrance.

That's a fantastic blog Tina, will have a proper read when I've got more time (ie, not on my lunch break).
