We went there in 2009 for a week before going onto the loire. There were a mixture of eng and dutch. I liked it as it was on the outskirts of the town. We walked to Notre Dame de Monts. Eurocamp were there but it wasnt as obvious as other sites ive been to. Theres a takeaway, you order your bread for the next day and buy some food bits. Pool was nice and safe for children. Every pitch has a clothes horse so you dont have washing lines on display. You can walk through the forest to the beach. The owners are very helpful and many people seem to return each year. There are customer reviews on their website if that helps.

Funnily enough we are doing the reverse of your trip!

Thats great thanks. We had already booked it and were hoping for some real life experiences. Have seen their site and seems well rated. The out of town location and direct access to beach on foot was what attracted plus only being 60 pitches or so .

What were the pitch sizes like from your memory - they look quite private on the website even if they are smallish?

its been in the Eurocamp brochure for years. I wouldnt let that put you off, they've probably only got a few pitches/ mobiles.

My error re eurocamp, i saw they had pitched up at Le Pin and though that La foret was new too, now i realise the error of my ways!!!!!

Have left a review of this site now. It is indeed a fab site for those who wish to avoid the large sites, with great cycling and direct access to beach via sandy pathway.

Piches are smallish but we had room for our FC. porch awning and car with room to bbq and a couple of chairs

Mainly Brits and Dutch with some German and French also

St Jeans de Monts itself wasn't really to our taste but Notre Dames de Monts which is walkable is lovely

Weather was great apart from one morning of rain
