Can anyone recommend a good, large camping shop near Nice, France? We are considering buying our awning out there.

We are going for an eight month trip and need to keep the weight down. Also as the weather is not good here yet we are not wanting to use it yet, and it does not make sense to buy one here when you can't take it back if there are problems.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Clare

Clare

Can't help with a shop but once you are there why not buy a couple of French caravan mags and I am sure they will have adverts. Are you sure they are cheaper in France? I have no idea but would suggest you look at NR Awnings as they are good value and well made.

You will find big camping/caravan shops in France--not in the holiday resorts--but in the towns & cities where the holiday makers live--buy a French caravan or motorhome mag when you get to France-& you will find lists of shops all over France--there are no bargains tho-prices are similar to here-but the French dont go in for special offers & sales-as much as here-You would probaley be better buyin one before you go-put it up to check its ok--name to look out for in France is Narbonne Accessories-----

Narbonne Accessories - is that the name of a camping shop? I typed it into Google on the internet and got nothing.

I used to be fluent - how long does it take to come back, I wonder.

Thanks for info.

We may buy one here, but we are concerned about the weight - there are clothes and bedding for six people, plus everything else, and we are near our limit on weight with an empty caravan.

Anyway, good to know that there are good, large camping shops - just see how the packing goes!

Clare
