Can anyone recommend a good guidebook to French campsites please? I'm taking my relatively recently acquired Bailey Olympus to France this summer for the first time.
Thanks,
David.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
There is an excellent "foreign" section here on this very board where you will find everything you could possibly need to know (and a bit more.)
But do it ...... you won't look back, I promise.
I agree with this. The reviews section is invaluable, provided you understand the simple principle that everyone has different priorities when camping. Ive used the review section here for a good few years now, and taken as a general indicator of quality it is probably the best guide around, though each to their own, obviously ( I have both the Michelin and Alan Roger Guides).
Caution is advised with reviews but you can usually pick out when people are being fussy or when things some dont like arent particularly a problem for you.....i dont care if the swimming pool slide is too small or the wifi is a bit dodgy as I'd never use them!. The detail is also useful, which you dont often get in book guides - so for example if six reviewers offer views on the site cafe, its likely to be more meaningful than a single visit from an Alan Rogers representative.
Dont forget to ask about sites on the forum too. Not all visited sites are reviewed and you'll get lots of opinion from posts.

Good selection available here, including the ACSI book which contains a useful discount card (if you can avoid the French peak season) for participating sites.
So many campsites in France, some 12,000 in total, try and choose a region first, ACSI will help narrow your search, as will "Camping Quality" listings.
Alan Rodgers France, is a good reference, but the feedback and reviews from members on here, is the best resource of them all.
Have a look at the Dutch, campsite review websites, they offer another good resource, for scoping out French campsites.
