Hi all,

I was just about to book my eurotunnel crossing when i thought, do they let you onboard with propane gas cylinders. i have looked on the eurotunnel's web site but still can't find anything about it. im so soo confused .

Plus i know these has being asked 1000's of times but i can't find a post regarding it. Prepaid cards. I was thinking of getting a prepaid card and using it for fuel. In the past we have just used our debit cards. Does must places take the prepaid cards for fuel in France and Spain. I know that you can't use the card for tolls. Sorry for asking a question that will have being asked and answered before. Just i'm getting myself in a pickle over this

thank you

bettyboop

Hi bettyboop
We have just returned from France via Eurotunnel and had no problem with our gas bottle.Used Eurotunnel a few times and never had a problem.
We have also used a pre paid card (mastercard) at petrol stations with no problems although we tend to use the 24 hour automated ones which approve the card before dispensing, saves embarressment at the payment booths!

If that link simply stated that you can bring normal sized gas bottles with you caravan/motorhome or in your car with your camping gear to run your cooker etc, it would be a lot easier to understand.

Gas cylinders are OK provided that you declare at check in.

As for prepaid cards, many do not allow you to make pre-approved transactions such as those used by pay-at-the-pump petrol stations, car hire firms and during any other purchase for goods or services that requires an initial authorisation for funds to be made before the full value of the transaction is known.
