Hello All,

The title says it all really!

I am looking for a good campite in or near Royan. Requirements are:
1) Near the beach
2) Large pitches
3) Pup tents allowed
4) Clean and good showers and toilets
5) Quiet at night! (very important, that one!)
6) No need for entertainment
7) Small pool - no need for waterslides etc.

Can anyone help?

If 12 miles away is not too far, then look at La Palombiere at Les Mathes (inland from La Palmyre) - lots of space and certainly quiet outside the peak season, but all that coast is busy in the main holiday month. www.camping-lapalombiere.com and reviews on zoover website.

Also Le Logis Du Breuil in Saint Augustin near Royan not far from the beach and ticks all the boxes. No extra charges for pup tents and pitches are big.

Yes, Logis du Breuil ticks all the boxes - I would highly recommend it.

There are a lot more sites 2 miles around the bay in nearby St Georges De Didonne, some of which are on the beach - Camping Bois Soleil for instance http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=6568

Bois Soleil would tick most of your boxes depending on when you are planning to go. In the main holiday season however they will have entertainment on several evenings a week in their restaurant or the adjacent open air amphitheatre - type area. It is literally right next to the beach though.
