Which route from Caen to Bordeaux region  ??

Travelling at end of July in holiday season - Using motorways I have two options -

1. A28 and A10    (Le Mans/Tours/Poitiers)

2. A84 and A10    (Rennes/Nantes)

Both have similar times and distances (on paper !)  - however, surely one must be quicker/better !!!!!

I do know the A     route will cost around 25 euro more in tolls.

Any help would be good.

I did this trip in reverse the other year.

From just north of Bordeaux -> Angouleme (N10) -> Poiters -> Tours -> Le Mans -> Caen. Road to Angouleme was good dual carriageway most of the way....would do it again.
