We are catching early crossings on dfds , 4am to be exact , & need stopovers for the night before, both ways, obviously we need sites where we can leave at silly oclock in the morning, preferbly if we dont have to unhitch, but a hook up would be handy. any ideas would be grateful

For the return you can stop in the car park at Dunkerque docks, as you approach checkin follow 'without tickets' sign, brings you into large carpark in front of main building. Plenty stop there so no probs.
This site is great for early/late & departures/arrivals as it has no entry barrier. This is our favourite site in the area as it has superb views over the Channel from parts of the site.
Little Satmar has no entry barrier and so again is great for early departures. In addition it has a large grassed area of undefined pitches where it is possible to stay hooked-up for early departures. We have done this a couple of times when catching an early ferry.
We have, also, overnighted at the M20 Motorway services at Maidstone. Although the services have dedicated caravan places they are NOT ideal as they very narrow. So narrow in fact that it can be difficult to open the c'van door in morning because of adjacent vehicles. This costs about £16 per night with at ticket bought from the Services restaurant till.
In 2009 we, also, spent one night at the, relatively new, services on the M20 at Folkestone. That services only has a long lay-by big enough to accommodate several caravan outfits, one behind each other. We arrived late and parked overnight in the coach parking area but in the morning noticed that there were lots of signs threatening fines, etc for non-coaches but we got away with it.
Another option is the one mentioned by Tentz, above, we have stayed in DFDS car park at Dunkerque on both are inward and outward journeys. A couple of times we have crossed from on the 6.00pm boat. With the time changes we have arrived at Dunkerque at 9.00pm and been able to stay overnight and get an early start, after a refreshing sleep.
On the way home we have over-nighted at the Dunkerque Ferry port car park several times. This has the added bonus that we have been able to get a place on an earlier ferry than we had booked.
The Dunkerque Ferry Port has toilet facilities in terminal building and a cafe during the daytime. We have stayed there with a number of times without any problems - as do many other caravanners and motor-homers.
I hope this helps - post again if you have any questions.
