Hi,

Is there knowledge of the publc transport from campsites near Rome to Rome and back?

I guess that I cant be sure to get the perfect campsite with the perfect connections in July - so I hope that others have braved Rome and can share knowledge of the public transportation in Rome.

Happy Camping

Jens Jakob

Hi

We stayed at I Pini Family Park at Fiano Romana which is about 35 Km from Rome in early May this year. The campsite ran its own daily minibus which dropped you off near the main Metro and bus terminii in Rome. Bus left at 10.30am and picked up at 18.30 and cost 8 euros per person for a return journey.

The campsite also had a bus service which went into  Fiano Romana for train and buses into Rome .

About 10 days ago we were at Camping Tiber on the outskirts of Rome. The site run a free half hourly shuttle bus to the local station, Prima Porta, where there is a regular serice into Rome. Journey time about 20 minutes. We thought it a nice campsite but surroundings outside the site a bit run down.

Camping Roma Flash - have a service into Rome ( not sure of price) and also there is a bus from the campsite gate to Bracciano station where trains are every 15v minutes or so, €6 return for a ticket which includes bus and metropolitana in Rome. (Biglietti giornali)
