My husband and I both have Tesco credit cards, his is Mastercard and mine is Visa. He has just checked his statement and discovered he has to pay 2.75% on his overseas transactions. I've checked my statement and I'm not paying any fees. Moral of the story, if you have a Tesco credit card and it's mastercard change it to Visa!

How did the actual rates compare between the two cards? Some list the charge seperately others don,t, therefore if you compare the rate you will see if you have also incurred the 2.75% conversion charge.
The exchange rate for both cards are the same. I've work out the exchange rate listed on my statement and the amount charged is correct - no charges for me. My husband's 2.75% charges are listed seperately on the statement.

That's interesting. I also have a Tesco Mastercatd but do not have any itemised chrages listed on my statement (we recently went to Gran Canaria). And I've checked my receipts for amounts too. I will monitor this, thanks for the heads up.
Is that new - it didn't happen last year.
Thanks for reminding me though - need to get the nationwide credit card sorted this year - had no PIN last year. DOH!

Remember a good wife always helps her husband with the dishes.
Our Nationwide credit card statement shows the price in euros, the exchange rate, and the converted price in pounds - which makes it easy to see just what rate you're getting.
