Someone cheer me up please. Our holiday has been postponed due to poor daughter having virus. So now we are hoping to leave in the next couple of days. Wanted to escape the beep beep weather here but looking at the forecast for Pas-des-Calais where we plan to camp, it looks just as bad if not worse temperature wise there. Anyone out there just now who can cheer me up??

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We spent our last night (last Saturday) at a campsite near the Tunnel and it was no better there than it is here! The 3 days before that we spent near St Valery sur Somme, again, lots of rain and not warm at all.
If you can, go a bit further south, the forecast was for not much better weather that far north in France early this week.
Yes im thinking you might be right. I had booked a campsite until Friday in Pas-De- Calais but i would rather find somewhere thats forcast with less rain.

The northern part of the continent is as bad as we are, because the jetstream is currently further south than Paris. It looks like you need to go south of the Massif Central to virtually guarantee good weather
However, the rain is generally local heavy showers, so you may be lucky.
I'm in the Massif Centrale and it is a glorious morning so far although the Meteo forecasts rain and local storms. French forecasts are not accurate though for future predictions.
When you arrive in France just buy a paper with a weather forecast (Aujord 'hui) and look where the best weather is over the next four days and head in that direction.
The newspapers are less 'optimistic' than the on-line forecasts, somehow - and it's worked for us recently. We've had glorious sunshine for almost four weeks this year, when everyone else was sitting in the rain.
saw the week ahead pressure chart for europe the other day and there was an area of low pressure swallowing up most of france by this weekend with only the south east coastal areas looking clear.
it may change but didnt look too promising for 80% of France
